Lafayette Miners Museum
108 E. Simpson Street

Run by the Lafayette Historical Society, this museum was originally built around 1895 and served as home to miners working in the Gladstone Mine. The house was transferred to its present location around 1910 when the mine was shut down. It now showcases relics of Lafayette’s colorful past.

August is peach time at Lafayette with the festival that celebrates the harvest of these succulent fruits. After celebrating it this year in the north parking lot of Waneka Parkway, the festival is returning in 2022 to its original site at Public Road in Old Town. Residents and visitors will be treated to various activities to boost the festival feel but the stars of the show will still be the peaches, pies, cobblers, and other peach-infused products for sale.
