Boulder, CO has been called the “Republic of Tea” by EnCompass Magazine for its impressive collection of tea hot spots. Whether in tea houses, cafes, or fine dining restaurants, you can get a great cup or glass of exotic and calming tea brews anywhere in the city.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for social distancing, however, many of these places have to shut their doors temporarily. But don’t fret. If you’re craving for classic Earl Gray or sweet bubble tea, you can call some of these tea haunts or order online for delivery or pick up.

Here are some the top tea places in Boulder with delivery or pick-up services:

Boulder-Dushanbe Teahouse
1770 13th Street
310.442.4993

More than just a restaurant, the Boulder-Dushanbe Teahouse is considered a “symbol of international friendship” between the cities of Boulder and Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Boulder’s adopted sister city in the former Soviet Union. As a gift from the mayor of Dushanbe, the stunning teahouse was constructed and decorated in the Tajik city by 40 local artisans, then disassembled and shipped to Boulder in 200 shipping containers in 1990.

For years, the masterpiece languished in storage due to financial and logistical concerns. Finally, in May, 1998, the teahouse was assembled and opened to the public. Today, it has become a magnificent landmark and must-visit tourist attraction in Boulder. Diners come here not only to eat and sip tea, but to marvel at the place’s beautiful Persian artwork and architectural details as well.

While you may have to wait longer to experience the teahouse’s visual feast, you can continue to enjoy their excellent teas and other gastronomic offerings through their pick-up and delivery services.
